Exact date intervals
How many days are between two dates?
Choose the dates and state whether each boundary counts. See calendar days, Monday-to-Friday business days, and weekend days together.
How to calculate the days between two dates
Subtract the start date from the end date for the elapsed calendar-day difference. From 1 January to 5 January, that difference is 4 days. Count both dates and the total is 5; exclude both dates and it is 3.
Choose the boundary rule
DayCount starts with the start date excluded and the end date included, so 1 January to 5 January returns 4. Turn on Include start date to count both boundaries and return 5.
Same-date check
A date compared with itself has 0 elapsed days. It returns 1 only when both Include start date and Include end date are selected.
Leap-day check
From 28 February to 1 March 2024 is 2 elapsed calendar days because the range crosses 29 February. Counting both boundary dates returns 3.
Calendar dates, not clock time
The calculator compares date-only values, so time zones and daylight-saving clock changes do not alter the count. Verify legal, contractual, tax and official deadlines from their governing source.
